Texting Scam
A scam has recently been reported in the local news media involving text messages on your cell phone. You are told that your ATM card has been suspended
and that you need to call to reactivate it. If you call, you will be asked to disclose your bank account number, social security number, and PIN. It
is a scam! Do not respond to the text message. Instead, write down what was communicated in the text and include the information in a
complaint form from this web site (if you are a Utah resident). When completed, send the form to us. When we
receive your completed complaint form, we will forward it to the Utah Attorney General’s Office for investigation and prosecution.
